RELX Pod Compatibility Chart: Generations, Specs and What Fits

Every pod we sell is described by two numbers that mean different things: the spec (the shape and connection family the pod belongs to, written as 0.4, 0.5, 0.6…) and the capacity (how much liquid that pod holds, in millilitres). Buyers who quote only one of the two end up with pods that do not fit the devices their customers already own. This page keeps the two straight and lists all ten lines in one table.

Why compatibility is a spec question, not a brand question

A device accepts a pod family by physical fit: the pod body profile, the mouthpiece shape and the contact position at the base. That is what the spec number stands for. Capacity is a consequence of the tooling, not the fitting rule — which is why two lines can share a spec size and still hold different volumes, and why the 0.6 square and 0.6 round tips are listed as separate lines rather than as one entry with a footnote.

The generation labels below are our own catalogue shorthand for ordering the specs from earliest to newest. They are useful for narrowing a choice quickly; they are not a substitute for checking the device in front of you. If a buyer tells us only “the newest one”, we ask for a photo before quoting.

The ten lines at a glance

Spec, generation and per-pod capacity for every line we hold in wholesale stock.
Pod spec Catalogue generation Capacity per pod Standard MOQ Where it usually sits in a catalog
0.4 1st Gen 0.55 ml 100 packs / flavor The legacy baseline: the largest installed base of older devices, price-sensitive retail, dependable reorder.
0.5 2nd Gen 0.65 ml 100 packs / flavor The workhorse most partners add first — sells across nearly every market without explanation.
0.6 3rd Gen 0.85 ml 100 packs / flavor Per-pod value positioning: fewer changes per device, visible on the shelf.
0.6 Round Round Tip 0.6 ml 100 packs / flavor Same spec family, different mouthpiece profile — ordered deliberately by customers who need that draw shape.
0.7 4th Gen 0.95 ml 100 packs / flavor The step-up line where session length starts to matter more than unit price.
0.9 5th Gen 1.1 ml 100 packs / flavor Mid-range capacity with the widest tolerance for flavor direction.
2.0 6th Gen 2.0 ml 100 packs / flavor The reference point several regulated markets cap around; stocked as its own line, not as a footnote. See MOQ and mixed orders.
2.5 7th Gen 2.5 ml 100 packs / flavor Higher-capacity retail where per-pod price is justified by longevity.
3.0 8th Gen 3 ml 100 packs / flavor Premium shelf; commonly the anchor SKU of a upgraded catalog.
4.0 9th Gen 4 ml 100 packs / flavor Top of the range for markets without volume caps.

Each line has its own page with the full specification, its own product photography, and the two lines either side of it in our catalogue order: the product line catalog. Capacity and generation on those pages are generated from the same data source as this table, so the two can not drift apart.

The three mismatches we see most often

  1. Ordering the newest spec for an installed base that is not on it. Demand in most markets still concentrates on the older specs, because that is what the devices people already carry accept. A catalog that starts at the top of the range can be the right catalog for the wrong customers.
  2. Treating two same-spec pods as interchangeable. The 0.6 square and the 0.6 round tip sit in the same spec family and are not the same order. Retail customers ask for one or the other by name.
  3. Choosing capacity first and fit second. Capacity is the marketing number; fit decides whether the pod goes into the device at all. Fix fit, then pick capacity for the price position you want.

How to have fit confirmed before you order

Send three things and we will answer with the lines that fit, itemized pricing and the live flavor availability for each one:

  • A photo or model name of the device your customers actually hold. If you serve several device families, say so — mixed catalogs are normal.
  • Your market, because capacity ceilings and packaging language change what is worth stocking. Import rules are yours to confirm with your own authority or broker; we supply the documentation, not the legal interpretation.
  • What already moves for you, if anything. A reorder pattern is a better compatibility signal than any chart.

The spec comparison guide walks through capacity and generation in more detail, and the authenticity checks are worth running on any supplier you compare us with — including on the packaging photographs they send you.
